Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is set to leave the England camp as a ‘precaution’, according to reports, in what could be a major injury blow for the Gunners.

The north Londoners travel to the Etihad after the international break to face Premier League title rivals Manchester City on March 31.

Saka’s fitness has now been thrown into doubt for that clash with the winger absent from England group training on Wednesday before making a decision leave the camp on Thursday.

That’s according to The Telegraph, although the FA have not yet confirmed his official withdrawal.

The Three Lions are getting ready for Euro 2024 with friendlies against Brazil and Belgium on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.

Saka has arguably been Arsenal’s most important player this season, producing 13 goals and eight assists across 27 Premier League games.

He is hoping to help the Gunners land their first top-flight title in 20 years after they pushed Pep Guardiola’s side all the way last term.

Ahead of the showdown at the Etihad, Arsenal currently sit top of the table on 64 points, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference, while City are just one point behind both of them in third place.

Arsenal beat City on penalties to lift the Community Shield in August and also defeated Guardiola’s side 1-0 when they met at the Emirates in October.

But Arsenal lost 4-1 when they last played at the Etihad in April – late into the 2022-23 season – as the Gunners eventually missed out on the title.

Arsenal played a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday as they get ready for the latest showdown against City.
