Arsenal have confirmed Frida Maanum is conscious and stable after collapsing during Arsenal’s Women’s League Cup final against Chelsea.

The Gunners midfielder went down off the ball in the closing moments of normal time at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.

Medical staff entered the pitch to treat her with play stopped for seven minutes.

Maanum received oxygen as she was taken from the field on a stretcher.

Arsenal said in a statement: ‘Frida is conscious, talking and in a stable condition.

’She will continue to be monitored closely by our medical team.’

The match continued after the incident with the Arsenal taking the lead deep into extra time through Stina Blackstenius after 116 minutes.

Her goal was enough to seal victory for Arsenal, who win the League Cup for a second successive year and their seventh in total.

Norway international Maanum has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season.
