Jamal Musiala has picked out five Arsenal players for praise ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final against the Gunners.

Arsenal defeated Portuguese side Porto on penalties in the last round and will now face German champions Bayern for a place in the semi-finals.

Bayern Munich, who are currently ten points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen with eight games to go, progressed to the quarter-finals courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate win over Lazio.

Arsenal, sitting top of the Premier League on goal difference, are bidding to win the Champions League for the first time, having lost to Barcelona in the 2006 final under Arsene Wenger.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are going for their seventh Champions League title and first since they lifted the trophy in 2020.

Musiala is wary of the threat Arsenal pose and picked out five players while insisting Mikel Arteta’s side have ‘top quality’ in ‘every position’.

The 21-year-old Germany international told Sport Bild: ‘Martin Odegaard is a brilliant playmaker in midfield, but there’s a lot of quality throughout the team.

‘Saka, Martinelli, Rice, Havertz and many more. They have top quality in every position. We have to be ready for that.’

The winner of the Arsenal-Bayern Munich quarter-final will face Real Madrid or Champions League holders Manchester City in the semis.

Asked if it was possible to beat Pep Guardiola’s Man City over two legs, Musiala said: ‘I have the attitude that we can beat any team.

‘There are teams that are having a better season than us. But I would never go into a match and be afraid of the opponent.’

If Bayern Munich fail to defend their German title this season, it will be the first time since 2012 that the Bundesliga trophy does not end up at the Allianz Arena.

Musiala admits Bayern have had a ‘difficult season’ but remains hopeful that Thomas Tuchel’s side can secure some silverware.

‘Everything is possible,’ he added. ‘With the second leg against Arsenal in our Allianz Arena we can secure a spot in the semi-finals.

‘First of all, we have to build up a good rhythm in the two Bundesliga games beforehand. I dream about the final at Wembley.

‘It will be difficult to catch up with Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. We will put as much pressure as possible. We hope we’ll still get something out of this difficult season.’
