David Seaman has picked his Ultimate Arsenal XI and unsurprisingly it is a very strong side, but there are big names who have missed the cut.

The Gunners legend was at the club from 1990-2003, making 564 appearances in all competitions and winning three league titles along the way.

He played with a number of the best players ever to pull on an Arsenal shirt, so is well placed to pick an ultimate Gunners team, although some will disagree with his choices.

The iconic goalkeeper has gone quite old school in his defensive picks, so the likes of Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell miss out, while Cesc Fabregas may feel hard-done-by in midfield.

Seaman told Betway: ‘We’re starting off with me in goal, obviously.

‘I’m going with the arsenal back four, starting with a certain Mr [Lee] Dixon. You would have him in your team all day long. I remember some of the battles he had with [David] Ginola, and he often won.

‘Left-back, Nigel Winterburn was here when I first joined the club and was a fantastic left-back. And then Steve Bould. He played in the time when the first tackle was free, Boy did he make use of that!

‘Then Mr Dependable, Captain Fantastic, Tony Adams.’

Dennis Bergkamp

‘My midfield is Patrick Vieria, what a leader, what a captain, what a player. He would be joined by Manu Petit doesn’t get the credit he deserves, he was a brilliant left-footed player, so e’s going on the left side of midfield.

‘And then I’m going with Mr [Robert] Pires. A very underrated player. That French midfield there won a lot of trophies.’

Seaman put together a potent strike force of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Ian Wright to finish off his dream XI, declaring: ‘That is not a bad little set-up.’
