David Seaman has tipped Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to join Chelsea or West Ham this summer.

Ramsdale, 26, has been forced to play back-up to Arsenal No. 1 David Raya this season.

Raya joined Arsenal on loan from Brentford last summer but is expected to complete a permanent move to the club at the end of the season, sparking speculation over the future of fellow shot-stopper Ramsdale.

Ramsdale had largely impressed before being displaced by Raya, helping Arsenal challenge for the Premier League title last term and earning four caps for England.

But he has barely featured this season – starting just 11 games in all competitions – and Seaman he should be looking to revive his career elsewhere.

The Arsenal and England legend believes Ramsdale could make short moves across London to either Chelsea or West Ham.

Robert Sanchez has been Chelsea’s No. 1 for most of the season but there are doubts over the former Brighton goalkeeper and the returning Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has spent this season on loan at Real Madrid.

West Ham, meanwhile, have called upon Alphonse Areola for much of the campaign and while the 31-year-old has impressed, Ramsdale may be seen as an upgrade for incoming manager Julen Lopetegui.

Discussing Ramsdale’s future at Arsenal, Seaman told Parimatch: ‘You aren’t going to develop being a number two. You’re going to get left behind in the pecking order because other goalkeepers will start playing.

‘As an Arsenal fan, I don’t really want Aaron Ramsdale to go. But then as an ex-England goalkeeper, I want to see another keeper developing.

‘When I’m looking at it, I think he could go to somewhere like Chelsea to give himself a better shot of getting first team action. I think there are a few clubs who he would suit, maybe someone like West Ham too.’

Arsenal have the best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding just 28 goals in 37 games. But even that will not be enough to clinch a first title since 2004 unless Manchester City slip up against Tottenham or West Ham.

Man City are aiming to win a record fourth successive Premier League title and will finish two points above Arsenal if both sides win their remaining fixtures.
