Money Back Bonus if your bet Loses

This promotion is a frequent and popular choice for bettors when it comes to Grand National betting. This can then be used to place a new bet free of charge at the site with a new chance of winning. This offer ensures that customers get a second chance to win.

Bet and Get

Bet and Get offers involve customers wagering a certain amount of money when placing a Grand National bet. In return, they will receive a certain amount worth of free bets back to use to continue using a site. An example of a bet-and-get offer is Bet £10, Get £40 in free bets. You will need to wait for your qualifying bet to settle, and once you have completed it, win or lose, you will receive your free bets in your account.

Enhanced Odds

Enhanced odds are another common Grand National betting offer often claimed by many punters due to their value. Often found on short-priced favourites, enhanced odds increase the potential winnings of a bet close to a race to tempt more customers into backing a selection. Both new and existing customers can claim enhanced odds at any of these Grand National betting sites.

Non-Runner No Bet

Another popular Grand National bet is a Non-Runner No Bet (NRNB), where if your selection is withdrawn from a race or does not start, you can receive your wager back as a cash refund or a free bet. This can then be used to place another bet and not miss out through no fault of your own or an unfortunate event.

Extra Each Way Places

Designed to give customers multiple chances of winning their Grand National bets, Each Way Extra Place wagers give punters the option to increase or decrease the number of places in a race when betting Each Way on a selection. Add places and take a reduced price or remove places and increase the odds on your selection.

Faller Insurance

The Grand National is the longest jump race in the country, with some of the most challenging jumps for jockeys and their horses. With a large field of competitors, it is common that most bookmakers include faller insurance in their Grand National betting offers. This means that should your selection fall at any point in the race, you will receive your money back as a cash refund or a free bet to place another bet at the site.

What to Expect at the Grand National 2024

Whether this is your first Grand National or one of many, you might be wondering what to expect. Below, we have provided some key information ahead of Opening Day.

The 2024 event takes place from Thursday, 11th April, to Saturday, 13th April, with Opening Day, Ladies Day, and Grand National Day. Seven races feature daily, with the Grand National on Saturday at 4 p.m. This year’s edition will see 34 horses take part across 16 fences, 14 of which are jumped twice over the four-mile (two and half-furlong) course.

The longest jump race distance in the country has many well-known fences, from Becher’s Brook to Canal Turn and Valentine’s, each with its own tests and challenges for the horses and jockeys. The lowest jump on the track measures 4ft 6, with the highest, The Chair, at 5ft 2.

Have you ever wondered what the fences are made of? In the past, they were made of natural thorn hedges, known as thorn fences. Now, they are created from Sitka or Norway spruce from the Lake District that are weaved into a plastic birch structure, allowing flexibility should any runner make a mistake.

Did you know? It takes 16 lorry-loads worth of materials and groundstaff 3 weeks to build the fences!

Grand National 2023 – A Look Back

While we await the start of the 2024 event, we have taken a look back at last year’s Grand National action.

They also won back in 2017 with One For Arthur. Vaniller and Gaillard Due Mesnil took 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. It saw just a third victory for Scotland at the event. The 2023 race featured more competitors than this year’s event, with 40 being decreased to 34 to enhance the horses’ safety. Last time out saw 7 horses pull up while 11 unseated their rider.
