England have announced that Harry Brook is set to return home from the Test side’s tour of India due to personal reasons.
Brook, 24, will leave Brendon McCullum’s party with immediate effect and a replacement will be called up in due course, with the Lancashire star not expected to return.
A statement on the ECB website cited ‘personal reasons’ but did not elaborate any further on specifics surrounding the batsman’s departure.
‘The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space,’ it said.
