Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to make his full England debut against Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old was drafted into the senior squad last week, having initially been called up to the U21s.

He came on for the last twenty minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday and impressed, finishing the game with a 100% pass record.

Mainoo has been a sensation for United this term, despite only making his Premier League debut in November.

Gareth Southgate had been wary of fast-tracking Mainoo and wanted to ease him into the senior side.

But the Manchester Evening News say that Mainoo won’t be held back any longer as he’s set to make his full debut against Belgium.

England’s squad has been hit with an injury crisis, with Harry Maguire, Kyle Walker and Harry Kane leaving the squad since the defeat against Brazil.

For Mainoo, it’s a chance to displace Conor Gallagher as he will partner Declan Rice in central midfield.

Gallagher failed to impress against Brazil, while Rice is set to start as he’ll be handed the captain’s armband on his 50th appearance.

Ivan Toney is also set for his full debut.

The Brentford striker has just one cap to his name and that came as a substitute in March 2022 against Ukraine.
