The Premier League trio of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall have all decided to skip the upcoming Players Championship events in Hildesheim, Germany.

It is a busy time of the year for the eight players in the Premier League, with the Players Championships and European Tour now in full swing.

Littler won the first Euro Tour event of the season at the Belgian Darts Open last weekend and has chosen to give himself Players Championship 5 and 6 off as a result.

The two tournaments take place in Hildesheim on 18 and 19 March, with both Humphries and Aspinall also not making the trip to Germany.

The other five Premier League players will be in the field, though, with Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross all entering the events.

With Humphries sat at the top of the world rankings and Aspinall at number four, they are not feeling any pressure to compete in everything to keep hold of their positions.

Littler is at number 28 in the world after the blistering start to his professional career and has already put himself in position to qualify for the World Matchplay in July.

Winning Players Championship 1 and the Belgian Darts Open has put the Nuke in a very strong position and allowed him to manage his schedule going forward.

There will still be plenty of chances for him to secure his spot in the World Grand Prix in October, which is not yet guaranteed.

Littler, Humphries, Aspinall and the rest of the Premier League crowd are in action in Nottingham on Thursday night on Night Seven of the event.

The Nuke will begin the night with a blockbuster bout against Michael van Gerwen, while Humphries plays Smith, Wright meets Price and Cross takes on Aspinall.
