Teenage AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda is attracting attention from across Europe, with both Manchester clubs interested in the impressive prospect.

Earlier this season Camarda became the youngest player in Serie A history when he came off the bench in a 1-0 win over Fiorentina.

The forward was just 15 years and 260 days at that stage and has since turned 16, with a big decision to make about his future this summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan have agreed a deal in principle for a new three-year contract for Camarda, but it is yet to be signed.

Borussia Dortmund have long been credited with an interest in signing the youngster, as have both Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Premier League clubs have a problem as Brexit rules mean Camarda cannot move to England until he turns 18, but City are in a better position than United on this front.

Serie B side Palermo are part of the City Group so Camarda could potentially spend time there before moving to the Etihad when he turns 18 in March 2026.

Camarda was in action for Italy Under-17s on Saturday against Belgium, scoring twice in a 5-3 win.

The teenage star has spoken previously about not having a footballing hero he looks up to, but learning from a range of strikers from past and presnet.

‘I don’t have an idol, I have four or five players who I would like to take inspiration from. Like [Luis] Suarez, [Karim] Benzema, there are a few,’ he said.

‘I don’t have a real idol. Thinking about the past I watch [Marco] Van Basten’s videos. They are just to be admired and tried to imitate.’
