Manchester United’s recruitment team have identifed a major concern over the club’s move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

The Frenchman is on United’s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window, when Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team will have full control of the club’s recruitment.

Olise, 22, attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester City last summer but ended up signing a new deal at Selhurst Park.

That deal is said to include an increased release clause of around £65m.

United spent £85m on Antony but the former Ajax winger has failed to impress at Old Trafford, while Jadon Sancho has just returned to Dortmund on loan.

Signing a productive right winger is a priority for the club, and United are even willing to include Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a deal to sign Olise.

But ESPN say United are fearful of returning to Palace for another player following the difficulties Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha have experienced at the club.

Wan-Bissaka joined in a £50m deal in 2019, while Zaha barely lasted six months after a £15m move in 2013.

Olise is minded to remain in London, which could hand an advantage to Chelsea.

Wan-Bissaka’s deal was extended last month, meaning his contract now expires in 2025.

United have opened discussions over a new deal, but are open to selling the defender.
