Manchester United stand to lose around £38million on Jadon Sancho this summer, with the club prepared to accept Dortmund’s £35m offer for the winger.

The Red Devils paid £73m for Sancho in 2021, having been set an asking price of £108m by Dortmund just 12 months earlier.

The deal was seen by a coup by United and testament to an apparent new transfer strategy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had warned the club to stop being held to ransom in the market.

But Sancho has failed to live up to his price tag and he returned to Dortmund on loan in January after a falling out with Erik ten Hag.

With neither Ten Hag nor Sancho showing any signs of backing down, it seems certain that Sancho will be sold this summer in the event that Ten Hag keeps his job at Old Trafford.

Dortmund are keen to keep Sancho and the Sun say they are prepared to offer around £35m for the England international.

That would mean a £38m hit from United from the fee they paid just three years ago.

But it’s said United are prepared to accept the offer, given their difficulties with Financial Fair Play.

It would free up significant room for the club this summer, who also hope to offload Mason Greenwood, Casemiro, Antony and Victor Lindelof.

Raphael Varane, Sofyan Amrabat and Jonny Evans are likely to be released.
