Jake Paul will fight heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on 20 July in a blockbuster boxing showdown.

In a bombshell announcement, it was revealed ‘The Problem Child’ will take on the boxing icon at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in an event to be streamed globally on Netflix.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the bout will take place under professional boxing rules or as an exhibition.

30 years separate the two men with Tyson, 57, long-retired from professional boxing, having hung his gloves up back in 2005.

He returned to the ring for a lucrative exhibition bout against fellow ring legend Roy Jones Jr in 2020 and recently helped train Francis Ngannou for his fight against heavyweight champion Tyson Fury last October.

‘I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.’ Paul said.

‘My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. This will be the fight of a lifetime.’

Tyson said: ‘I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul. He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a “kid” can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.

‘It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.’

Social media star-turned-boxer Paul, 27, has amassed a record of nine wins and one defeat in boxing having begun his professional career with wins over fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA star Nate Robinson.

The American then turned to MMA fighters, beating three former world champions in Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

In February 2023, he came up against Tommy Fury, his first opponent with a legitimate boxing background, losing a controversial split decision in Saudi Arabia.

He returned to winning ways against another former UFC star in Nate Diaz last summer, since picking up wins against veteran boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
