Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee at Dens Park has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The game was due to kick off at midday but the surface was deemed unplayable after a pitch inspection at 10:15am.

Dundee ground staff had been working on the throughout the morning following a night of rain.

Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, one point behind Celtic who have played one game more.

Dundee, meanwhile, sit seventh in the table and would be out of the relegation play-off places if they had beaten Rangers.

‘We’re supposed to be one of the most robust leagues in the world, the ball is rolling, we’ve had guys out here since 5am,’ Dundee owner John Nelms told Sky Sports.

‘Mother Nature’s done what she’s done, we’ve done everything we could to get this pitch in the right place.

‘There are two small spots where the ball isn’t bouncing, as we speak.

‘The rest of the pitch is fine, they said they don’t think we’ll be able to get it playable before 12pm, so that’s where we’re at.’
