The United Stand presenter Mark Goldbridge has received death threats following his interview with Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund spoke to the fan channel last month, which has resulted in sickening backlash towards Goldbridge – real name Brent Di Cesare – and Greater Manchester Police are now investigating the death threats made against him.

Goldbridge has been told that is a ‘dead man walking’ and some have threatened to harm him if he turns up at Old Trafford to support the team, while other members of staff on The United Stand have also been targeted.

Some of Hojlund’s teammates were reportedly unhappy over his decision to agree to the interview as Goldbridge has openly criticised several players and is known for his abrasive style.

But it is thought that the issue has led to dressing-room banter rather than any serious tension in the squad.

The United Stand is the club’s most popular fan channel with a YouTube audience of 1.83m and their account on X, formerly known as Twitter, has 2.3m followers.

‘Officers have spoken with the victim and relevant information has been passed over to the police,’ read a statement from Greater Manchester Police. ‘Enquiries are ongoing at this stage.’

Goldbridge, meanwhile, has told the Daily Mail: ‘I totally understand that football is a passionate and divisive sport, and that people are free to decide and have an opinion on what content they consume.

‘However, the pile-on some of our staff were subject to over the weekend was incredibly sad to witness.

‘To be threatening people’s lives yet again evidences the vile pack mentality that exists on social media.’
