Thomas Tuchel has identified who Arsenal’s key players will be against Bayern Munich in their huge Champions League clash.

Arsenal travel to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night with the quarter-final tie delicately poised after the 2-2 draw at the Emirates last week.

The first-leg was a thrilling, end-to-end encounter and much of the same is expected in Germany with Tuchel wary of the threat the Gunners pose.

The former Chelsea manager was keen to highlight the brilliance of two of Mikel Arteta’s attacking talents in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday: ‘I think with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard they always attack on the right, at least the beginning of an attack.

‘They try to create an overlap there to get through or to switch sides. We didn’t learn anything new from the league game on Sunday [when Arsenal lost to Aston Villa].

‘It’s all very flexible, the transitions are very fluid. Most of the time everything happens, they’re not a team that commits to one formation. You can recognise a lot of automatic, but also free-running moves.

‘We played very attentively in the first leg. They play a very attractive style. They play at the highest level.

‘We did well in the first leg, but it’s only half-time. We need everything again and hope that the home game will be the deciding factor.’

Arsenal captain Odegaard has been terrific for his club again this season, and after an injury scare was spotted in training on Tuesday, so should be fine to play in Munich.

Saka was on fire in the first-leg, scoring the first goal of the game, but in the second-leg the winger will have a new player to go up against with Bayern left-back Alphonso Davies suspended after getting booked at the Emirates.

And Tuchel admits he hasn’t decided who will fill in for the Canadian yet, with his options being Raphael Guerreiro or Noussair Mazraoui with both struggling with muscle injuries lately.

‘We’re looking at the left-back position. We have an extra day to prepare. That’s good for us,’ he added.

‘Then I also need to speak to Noussair, he’s also had to grit his teeth lately. We’ll make the final decisions tonight.’
