Liverpool will have to dust themselves down quickly after their derby defeat with their trip to West Ham United looming on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds saw their Premier League title hopes dealt another blow on Wednesday after defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

Jurgen Klopp’s side lacked a real cutting edge up front with Diogo Jota sidelined once again having only made his full return from a knee injury against Fulham last weekend.

Jota joins Conor Bradley on the sidelines with the Northern Ireland international ruled out with an ankle injury, along with long-term absentees Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip.

Cody Gakpo meanwhile missed the Merseyside derby with he and his partner expecting their first child.

Jarell Quansah, Wataru Endo and Harvey Barnes will be among those pushing for starts in east London this weekend after they were summoned from the bench on Merseyside midweek.

For the hosts Jarrod Bowen will be assessed in the coming days having missed last weekend’s defeat at Crystal Palace.

The England international also missed the defeat to Fulham but played 72 minutes in between those two Premier League games in the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen.

Bowen took injections to get him through that game against the German champions, with Moyes explaining last week: ‘Jarrod’s always quite robust, but I know he was really touch and go for last night’s match, and he was really close to not playing.

‘He took an injection before the fixture, so we’ll need to see how he is and how he’s reacted to that. It was a big boost to have him back, as it is whenever your big players are available to play.’
