Virgil van Dijk is a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Tottenham this afternoon.

The Reds skipper, who has started and completed every league match he has been available for this season, did not train last week.

Jurgen Klopp explained on Friday: ‘Virgil wasn’t [in team training] the whole week yet. He will] probably [be in] part of parts of team training today. So we have to see what we can do there.’

Conor Bradley meanwhile is available again having missed his side’s last four games with an ankle injury. Diogo Jota however is still to return to training.

Elsehwhere, all eyes will be on Mohamed Salah when the starting XIS are confirmed later today.

The Egypt international was dropped to the bench last Saturday in east London against West Ham but was called upon by his manager in the second-half.

Klopp and Salah clashed on the touchline with Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez forced to intervene and calm the situation. While the Liverpool boss played down the incident, Salah commented ‘if I speak today there will be fire’ as he left the London Stadium.

Whether the 31-year-old returns to the starting XI will be the biggest talking point against Spurs, with Nunez also hoping to reclaim his place.

After back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Chelsea, Tottenham are in desperate need of a positive result in their battle for a top four finish.

James Maddison was dropped from the starting XI on Thursday against Stamford Bridge as Ange Postecoglou made five changes to his side but to little success.

Ben Davies has joined Destiny Udogie on the sidelines with Timo Werner ruled out for the rest of the season.

Maddison, along with Rodrigo Bentancur will be among those pushing to reclaim their spots in the side.

Predicted Liverpool XI to take on Tottenham: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Salah, Nunez, Diaz
